The vision of CCI is not to just create orphanages
but fully self-contained villages: each one a safe
haven, a place where children can feel safe, cared for and nurtured–sometimes
for the first time.
Orphans arriving at CCI will find more than a place to stay;
they will find a place to begin a new life.
We are currently raising funds toward the construction
of a Children’s Village, the focal point of our ministry
in Kenya. CCI has acquired 20 acres of land from the Kenyan
government in order to build the Village. The village will create
family stability and educational prospects for homeless children.
Children will receive onsite academic and vocational training.
They will also care for livestock and crops, giving them hands-on
experience in agriculture and animal husbandry.
The planned twenty–acre CCI village will include
elementary and high schools, a technical college, a low cost
health clinic, and fields where local crops and livestock for
the children are raised. Among the many buildings in the village
will be a chapel.
The focal point of the Children’s Village will
be the small family units, housing one or two staff and 12 children.
It is within these homes that our children will experience the
love, security and safety that only family life can provide.
Because CCI’s Kenya village will be self-contained
and self-supporting, it can operate outside the realm of local
governments and tribal issues. In fact, CCI’s staff includes
members of all the local tribes as well as westerners –
working together toward that common goal of being an island
of light in a sea of darkness.
CCI’s Kenya mission will serve as a model
for future CCI missions to come, to be located throughout the
third-world, wherever there is need. Because CCI’s mission
and missions to come are partly self-supporting, your contribution
goes far in making a significant impact on fragile young lives.
